Case Example Interview Script
Andy Jiang, an UX designer in China. His experience in this field has exceeded 5 years. He is currently in a small start-up web designing company.
Below is the outline of the interview
Overview/ Interview Prompt
1. What is your opinion in UX?
Andy: It is indispensable. Every element in building a website are connected by UX. Without it, there will not be a accessible website.
2. What do you think is the most important element of UX?
Andy: As we all know, UX is User Experience, which cannot be separate from the ultimate goal of the audience. Why would a user want to click into your website? It must be his/her curiosity into something. So to keep every user stay on our website, we need to fulfill his curiosity.
3. How should we achieve that?
Andy: I think three essential requirements for a website is: good-looking and good-using (this is direct translation from Chinese characters). With good-looking, I need the website to be pretty. It is as superficial as it sound. But to be noted, the website itself need to be pretty, but not pretty enough to shift attention from content to the design. The users should still be focusing on the content. So the design shouldn't be a part that might takes too much attention and bother them.
With good-using, I need the website to be easy-to-operate for all ages. All clicks on the website should not require any thinking.
