STARTING AT UX

Updated: Feb 10, 2022

Fundamentals you need to know about User Experience. What is UX, What fields will it be employed, how is it employed.

UX stands for User Experience. “User'' is the nominal form of “to use”, which derives from the Latin word “oeti”, which means “to employ, exercise, perform”. “Experience” derives from the Latin word “experientia”, meaning “knowledge gained from repeated trials”.

Don Norman, cofounder and principal at the Nielsen Norman Group, coined the term 'user experience' decades ago. The term is remarkably hardy, despite its occasional misinterpretation (Stull 1). "

This field includes different fields that are interdisciplinary, and interacts with multimedia (Stull 1). The related areas are Psychology, HCI (Human-centered Interaction), engineering, computer science, graphic design, website design, etc. These fields are intertwined and cannot be separated with UX, which lays the foundation for better customer reviews about a product or service.

UXR (User Experience Research)

Just as writing a blog, the research done to build the study of UX is involved with primary, secondary, and third-party research. The UX professionals will use the research they completed to evaluate and reanalyze the product and revise it according to customer preferences and needs.
